POEM: Darkness By Hektor Munoz

DARKNESS

darkness envelopes them
shadows
bundles
on a filthy concrete floor
covered in rags
picked from an unmarked can
people who somehow
passed out
gave up
icons of a society that permits
butterflies to die
to die
to die
in darkness enveloped
the shadows
the bundles
sleep away yet another night…
